The Republic of Kosovo has officially welcomed Kenya’s decision to recognize its independence and sovereignty. This historic recognition was confirmed through an official decision signed by Kenyan President William Ruto and recently delivered to the Presidency of Kosovo.

On behalf of Kosovo’s institutions and citizens, President Osmani expressed her sincere gratitude to President Ruto for his just and significant decision. She also extended appreciation to Kenyan institutions and citizens who supported this major diplomatic milestone.
Over the years, President Osmani has engaged in several key meetings with President Ruto, during which the recognition of Kosovo was a central topic of discussion. She highlighted that President Ruto had consistently reassured the people of Kosovo that the recognition process would proceed swiftly, in accordance with international law and in recognition of Kosovo’s historical struggle.
A special acknowledgment was also given to all individuals who contributed to this diplomatic success. In particular, President Osmani expressed gratitude for the continuous efforts of former President and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, who played a pivotal role in the process.
Kosovo remains committed to advancing its path towards international integration and strengthening its global position. With this latest diplomatic achievement, relations between Kosovo and Kenya are expected to deepen across various sectors. The two nations anticipate the establishment of formal diplomatic relations in the near future, paving the way for a strong and long-lasting partnership between their governments and peoples.
