The opening of the Consulate General stands as a testament to the special relationship and enduring ties between Albania and Montenegro. It also reflects the joint commitment of both nations to build a stronger and more interconnected future.

“In a time when Albania and Montenegro are allies sharing a common vision for peace, stability, and European integration, this step represents a significant milestone in deepening cooperation at all levels—political, economic, cultural, and human,” Minister Hasani stated.

He emphasized that the consulate will serve as a strategic hub to boost trade exchanges, attract investment, and expand opportunities for sustainable development, especially in key sectors like tourism, energy, and infrastructure.

Minister Hasani also underlined the Albanian government’s continued dedication to the well-being and development of Albanians wherever they live. He praised the Albanian community in Montenegro for their vital contribution to the country's democratic and Euro-Atlantic path, describing them as a pillar of stability and coexistence. “We will continue to support this role and encourage their active participation at all levels of institutional life,” Hasani affirmed.

As part of his visit to Ulcinj, Minister Hasani met with the Mayor of Ulcinj, Mr. Genci Nimanbegu. The two discussed pressing matters of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of culture, education, and tourism.

The Minister also visited the Center for Books and the Promotion of Albanian Culture—Libraria Ulqini. Earlier this year, the center received a financial grant of €50,000, and Minister Hasani reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continue supporting its operations.

In addition, Hasani held meetings with leaders of Albanian political parties in Montenegro to exchange views and discuss key issues related to the political landscape and regional developments.

This important visit and the opening of the Consulate General underscore a renewed chapter in the Albania-Montenegro partnership and reaffirm the significance of Ulcinj as a cultural and diplomatic bridge between the two nations.
