On April 5, 2025, the city of Munich came alive with the colors and rhythms of the Balkans during the 19th edition of the “Balkantage” festival. As part of this cultural celebration, the event “Balkan Basar” took place, showcasing the diverse traditions and folklore of the Balkan region.
Among numerous participating groups from various countries, the Albanian ensemble “Iliria München.” stood out with a powerful and captivating performance. Their dedication and artistry were rewarded with first place in the folklore competition, organized by Hilfe von Mensch zu Mensch e.V.
The award ceremony was held at the end of the artistic program, where the group received the official certificate from the organizers. “Iliria München.” moved the audience with their traditional costumes, authentic dances, and the unique energy that Albanians are known for, wherever they may be.
This achievement is a testament to the commitment of younger generations in the Albanian diaspora to preserve and promote their cultural heritage.
