A More Efficient and Modern Statute
The new statute aims to simplify and improve the governance of the Foundation, making it more effective and responsive to the needs of the Arbëresh community. Key changes include a clearer management and leadership structure, with an expanded role for the President of the Foundation. The President will now be appointed by the President of the Calabria Region, upon the proposal of the Regional Assessor for Linguistic Minorities, and will have full authority over the Foundation's daily management and strategic decisions.
Another innovation is the establishment of the Assembly of Mayors of Municipalities and Provinces, which will contribute to drafting strategies and policies for the Arbëresh community. Additionally, the role of the Committee of Supporters and the Director has been eliminated and replaced with a new Technical-Scientific Committee, which will assist the Foundation in planning and evaluating its activities.
A Significant Step for the Arbëresh Community
The new statute is expected to enhance the efficiency of the Foundation and strengthen ties between institutions and the Arbëresh community, enabling greater support for the preservation of the language, culture, and traditions of this vital part of Albania's heritage in Italy. This development stands as a testament to Calabria’s dedication to safeguarding and promoting the rich Arbëresh identity, which remains an essential element of the region’s historical and cultural legacy.
