Rrogozhinë witnessed a momentous occasion today with the official inauguration of the newly rebuilt “Egnatia Arena” ahead of the match between Egnatia and AF Elbasani. The event marked a historic step forward not only for KF Egnatia but also for the city of Rrogozhinë and Albanian football as a whole.
The state-of-the-art stadium, rebuilt from the ground up, is the result of the vision and dedication of KF Egnatia’s President, Agim Demrozi, along with vital financial backing from the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF). With over 2 million euros invested—courtesy of FSHF—the project includes a brand-new grandstand, modern lighting systems, covered seating, player benches, a perimeter LED system, and an electronic scoreboard, meeting European standards for category 4 stadiums.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by FSHF President Armand Duka and KF Egnatia President Agim Demrozi, who together unveiled the commemorative plaque in front of an enthusiastic crowd of supporters.
Speaking to fshf.org, President Duka called it one of the most important days for Rrogozhinë football, underlining the significance of the new stadium, which seats approximately 5,000 fans and is fully equipped to host international matches.
“This is the happiest and most significant day for football in Rrogozhinë and for KF Egnatia,” said Duka. “We are officially inaugurating a new sports facility—this stadium with around 5,000 seats, complete lighting systems, and all the conditions required for a category 4 stadium capable of hosting any international match. Fortunately, it will also host games of the UEFA U-17 European Championship 2025. It is a tremendous investment not only for Rrogozhinë but also for the Albanian Superliga as a whole.”
Duka also thanked the club for its sporting contributions, highlighting its triumphant run last season where Egnatia won all three major domestic trophies. He emphasized that the main challenge moving forward is the better promotion of the national championship and called for increased attendance in stadiums.
“I hope we see even more children engaging in football and more fans in the stands. That’s the challenge ahead—for Egnatia, for every Superliga club, and for Albanian football overall: to promote our beautiful championship better,” he concluded.
KF Egnatia’s President, Agim Demrozi, expressed deep gratitude to FSHF and President Duka, calling it a historic day for Rrogozhinë.
“Today is a historic day for the city of Rrogozhinë. We are inaugurating our new football stadium. We are immensely thankful to the Federation and to President Armand Duka for their support in building Egnatia Arena,” Demrozi said.
With this milestone, Egnatia Arena is set to become a key venue for both national and international football events, symbolizing the growing ambition and potential of Albanian football infrastructure.
