Today marks a significant milestone for the Albanian Naval Force as it officially receives the Italian warship “Libra”, a Casiopea-class corvette, donated by the Italian Republic.

This donation represents a major step forward in strengthening the operational capabilities of the Albanian Navy. The addition of Libra is expected to enhance maritime defense, contribute to international NATO missions, and support regional stability across the Adriatic and Ionian Seas.
Libra has served the Italian Navy for over 30 years and belongs to the respected Casiopea class. It is equipped with advanced radar systems, along with capabilities for search-and-rescue operations and the protection of critical maritime infrastructure.
Thanks to its high level of autonomy and advanced operational features, Libra will serve as a key asset for Albania’s naval forces. Its presence is set to boost Albania’s maritime security, aid in fulfilling NATO responsibilities, and reinforce peacekeeping efforts throughout the region.
