Kosovo and the United Arab Emirates Recognize Driver’s Licenses Reciprocally

The news was confirmed today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, through a verbal note sent to the Embassy of Kosovo in Abu Dhabi, as reported by albinfo.ch.

This agreement allows citizens of both countries to convert their driver’s licenses without the need for additional theoretical or practical exams in the host country. This move simplifies mobility and integration for citizens in both states.

The agreement was signed on December 4, 2024, in Abu Dhabi by the interior ministers of both countries: Xhelal Sveçla from Kosovo and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan from the UAE.

This is the second significant agreement between the two countries, following the visa-free travel agreement for Kosovo citizens in January 2024.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo has expressed gratitude to the authorities of the UAE for their cooperation and for strengthening bilateral relations.
