Over 16,000 Students Participate in the Albania-Kosovo Albanian Language Olympiad

 For the first time, Albania and Kosovo jointly organized an Albanian language Olympiad, with over 16,000 ninth-grade students from both countries participating, testing their knowledge of the Albanian language and literature. The event marked a significant milestone in the educational cooperation between the two nations.

The Minister of Education and Sports of Albania, Ogerta Manastirliu, and the Minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation of Kosovo, Arbërie Nagavci, praised the 84 finalist students of the joint Olympiad, who emerged victorious after completing the first three stages of the competition.

Minister Manastirliu emphasized the importance of this event, stating that it was a beautiful moment symbolizing the unity of Albania and Kosovo in celebrating the Albanian language, which is at the heart of the national identity of Albanians. She expressed confidence that this activity would become a cherished tradition, continuing year after year, bringing students closer together and strengthening the ties between the two countries.

"After hard work from both ministries, today we celebrate the conclusion of an initiative that has showcased the dedication of students and teachers, and which will continue as an important tradition for future generations. This is an opportunity to preserve and promote our beautiful Albanian language," said Minister Manastirliu.

In a special message, Minister Arbërie Nagavci expressed her satisfaction with the success of the event and emphasized the importance of deepened cooperation between the two ministries to strengthen the teaching of the Albanian language and organize activities that bring together students from Albania and Kosovo.

"This activity has two main goals: to strengthen cooperation between our two ministries and to elevate the Albanian language. All of you are winners," said Minister Nagavci.

In total, 84 students from Albania and Kosovo, after completing the three phases of the Olympiad, were declared winners and received certificates for their knowledge of the Albanian language and literature. This event saw massive participation, with around 16,000 students engaging in this joint Olympiad.

This successful collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Sports of Albania and the Ministry of Education of Kosovo aims to protect and promote the Albanian language, culture, and traditions, as well as strengthen the national identity of Albanians.
