Dritan Abazović, former Prime Minister of Montenegro and leader of the URA Movement, made strong statements following a protest organized by the Municipality of Ulcinj. The protest was in opposition to the Montenegrin government's controversial decision to grant a portion of the coastal area to Arab investors. According to Abazović, those supporting the project are effectively pushing for the erasure of both Ulcinj and its Albanian population.

"This is an extremely non-transparent process, illegal and unconstitutional. I believe there is massive corruption behind it, and we have united in Ulcinj to defend our coast," Abazović told A2CNN. "We've already started this debate in Parliament and we will not allow anyone to take our city from us."
The URA leader didn't hold back, stating that the political parties backing the project face a clear choice. "They either want to erase Ulcinj and the Albanians, or they stand with the citizens. In Parliament, we are launching a major campaign, and I believe that in the end, we will succeed in protecting our Ulcinj."
Abazović’s comments have further intensified the political tension surrounding the controversial coastal development plan, which critics argue threatens the cultural and environmental identity of one of Montenegro's most historically Albanian regions.
